================================================================================
This disk was archived using the tools & methodology below. The information is
provided to aid others in the digital preservation of software written for
the Apple II.

(1)	The source disk was not accessible via normal neither DOS 3.3 nor ProDOS
	access.
(2)	Using the software Passport by 4am, a copy of the disk was made.
Passport stated the boot sector was Diversi-DOS, copy protection check
chain loaded the keyboarding software and appropriate modifications were
made to the TOC enabling normal access under DOS 3.3 and GS/OS. The
copied disk would not boot and crashed/froze the computer.
(3)	After booting from a clean DOS 3.3 disk, the copied disk could be
CATALOG’d and could BRUN the keyboarding program (first file listed on
	the disk).
(4)	Attempting to copy all files to a clean DOS 3.3 would fail with a DISK
FULL error. Obviously, either Diversi-DOS is smaller than Apple DOS 3.3
or file sizes had been inflated to prevent file by file copies.
(5)	Using CopyIIPlus 9.1, the DOS greeting/boot program was changed to the
actual program (learned in step 3) and not the copy protection check.
(6)	The disk would still crash/freeze the computer on boot.
(7)	Using Pronto-DOS’s update (install) utility, Pronto-DOS replaced the
original Diversi-DOS with the update options of ‘Verify on Save: OFF’
and ‘Force Reload of Language Card on Boot: OFF.’ Goal was for the
smallest possible footprint of Pronto-DOS to be installed.
(8)	The disk now boots under Pronto-DOS and the software is fully usable.

Functional disks of this software can be made from the respective disk image,
followed by any Apple II software able capable of making Whole Disk copies
(CopyIIPlus, Apple Utilities 3.1, etc). File by file archives will fail
with DISK FULL.
